Journalism, Marketing, and Commuinication

I am a journalist, storyteller, and marketing and communications professional passionate about crafting impactful narratives and driving digital engagement. My expertise lies in media, strategic communication, and brand storytelling. Throughout my career I have created content that connects audiences, enhances visibility, and fosters meaningful engagement across diverse platforms.
My career began in Afghanistan, where I worked as a multimedia journalist with BBC Afghanistan from 2018 to 2022, covering stories on conflict, development, and gender issues. Following the fall of the Afghan government in 2021, I relocated to Toronto, where I continued reporting as a freelance journalist for The Guardian, Al Jazeera, and other international outlets.
Currently, I am pursuing a Master’s in Marketing at the Schulich School of Business, York University, on a full scholarship from the Journalism Refugees Education Fund.
My expertise now bridges journalism, marketing, and strategic communications that will help me further to craft compelling narratives that drive engagement, influence public discourse, and support brand storytelling. Alongside my studies, I continue to work as a freelance journalist writing on women issues in Afghanistan, and a marketing consultant. My goal is to shape impactful narratives that engage and connect audiences across industries.
